- The 'gift economy' might seem like a crazy anarchist delusion, yet I believe that sooner or later we will see that it is the only thing that will actually work. In this chapter I present a sociologist's view of contemporary relations between people and with nature and how I became drawn to the utopian model of the gift economy. I look at anarchist strategies for living right now, how we would like to live after the revolution and reformist strategies for cobbling together 'hybrids' of the gift economy and capitalism. I argue that both are inevitable.
